Nothing makes me happier then getting ready for Christmas! I am so excited to announce the release of a special edition holiday mug that I’ve designed with one of my favourite tea companies: teapigs! I love that they have whole leaf tea, and the mesh bag it comes in has lots of room for those leaves!

We have been working on this for a while now and I am so thrilled with how the final product turned out! As we get closer and closer to Christmas, I look forward to enjoying a heaping mug of hot chocolate by the fireplace.  Now I have my very own personalized mug to enjoy it from!  I’m also looking forward to giving this mug as a gift.

What’s even better about this gift is that $1 from every mug sold will go to a charity that is very close to my heart.  Vancouver’s new City Dream Centre is part of a global network and offers programs that address the issues arising from hunger, poverty, human trafficking, addiction, and homelessness. This charity is located in the city of Surrey and it is a place where hope, dignity, and value exist for everyone.  So now you can go to teapigs.ca and order your very own mug that you can feel good about giving! Also how amazing does the peppermint infused hot chocolate look? I’ve shared the recipe below. Cozy up and enjoy!

Mint Tea White Hot Chocolate
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Serves 4

Ingredients
3 cups whole milk
1 1/2 cups whipping cream or half and half
2 sachets teapigs mint tea
10 oz. (about 1 1/4 cups) good quality white chocolate, chopped

Toppings
Whipped cream
Chocolate curls
Mini marshmallows
Chocolate sauce

Directions
Place the milk and cream in a saucepan and simmer.  Once hot, add in the two tea bags.

Remove from the heat and let it steep for 5 minutes.

Remove the tea bags and whisk in the white chocolate. (If you need it to melt more, place back on a medium heat until smooth and completely melted.)

Top with your favourite hot chocolate toppings. Serve warm and enjoy!
