A Laundry Room & Mud Room
Did someone say laundry? Please tell me I’m not the only one with the never ending pile of laundry that needs to be folded… all day, every day! The unsettling feeling of getting it washed, folded and put away is always on the back of my mind. Our mudroom is right off of our garage, making it a high traffic in and out area in our home. It can be over flowing with laundry or simply multiple pairs of shoes in the middle of the floor, and numerous jackets that are thrown about.

Which leads me to today’s post! How and why you should create a beautiful laundry room or mudroom and it organized and simple! I love when everything has it’s own place and neatly tucked away. The items that I have on display are either pieces of decor that add character and charm to a room, or practice and in arm’s reach. Baskets (and crates) are my love language when it comes to organizing. They not only add so much storage space but look so great when styled in multiples or solo. Instead of cramming your cleaning supplies and laundry detergents into your cupboards under the sink, place them into crates or the pretty ones on display. Below I’ve listed my top 5 tips and items to help you create a beautiful space to help making those not so pretty (and daunting) areas in your organized and beautiful again!
Top 5 Tips to the Perfect Laundry Room:
1. Keep it simple!
2. Find storage specifically for the items you have
3. Add in statement pieces like a great floor (we love the cement tiles!!) or a wallpaper!
4. Consider having some built ins made for some extra storage and a cohesive, all together look
5. Find detergent and cleaning supply bottles that are cute and have great branding, not only for convenience but also for some added style!
Top 5 Items for the Perfect Laundry Room:
1. Baskets
2. Hooks
3. Crates
4. Floating shelves for visible storage
5. And a great piece of artwork… or statement floor!

I love the shiplap and molding in your laundry space. Would it be possible to share the details. I would like to use shiplap but I have never purchased it. Such a lovely space!
Our builder actually installed them! You could either hire a carpenter or I’m sure there is a budget friendly way through Home Depot 🙂
Thanks so much! Is there a certain brand or width you like?

What size did you print your fresh laundry?? Also what size did u order the flower print? It looks small. I assume the smallest size?
And by fresh laundry I meant fresh linen lol!
I love it! We took our office and created a door to the garage to convert it to a mudroom. It’s almost done! Then we will need to tackle the laundry room…lots of good ideas here!
We are ready to paint our mudroom cabinets, so I’d love to know what kind of paint was put on your cabinets (brand and type, not color). If you want, check out our progress at

So lovely! We recently re-did our laundry room as well and I agree, baskets are a must have!
