Cannon Beach Must Do & See

I’m sure by now you all know how much we love to drive down to Cannon Beach, Oregon. We’ve been making this destination a family tradition at the end of summer for the past three years. It’s seriously such a magical place. There is nothing like walking down the beach past Hay Stack Rock, anyone will tell you it’s truly a piece of Heaven on Earth. We walk down the beach two to three times a day, rain or shine. It’s so peaceful and serene, it’s such an incredible beach. I love that the kids can play in the sand for hours, and because the beach is so massive I know they’re close to site and won’t run into the waves. They just sit and just play in the sand, and run endless laps around us. The evening are magical as you can have a fire on the beach. During the summer months evenings consist of dozens of groups of people gathered around a beach fire, feels like a scene right out of a movie.

There are cute cafe’s and lots of restaurants to choose from. It’s a quaint beach town, but done right. If you love interior design, then you’ll fall in love with the rows of cedar shingle styled homes along the beach, continuing into town. We typically rent a house on Airbnb or Home Away that’s available during the time we are there. There are so many vacation rentals that are sure to fit your liking.

If you’re considering visiting Cannon Beach, I’ve included all my favourites at the bottom of this post. I hope you love it as much as we do!

Below I’ve listed some of our favourite cafes, restaurants and things to do while you’re visiting. I can’t wait to go back next summer!

Sea Level Bakery & Coffee – Delicious coffee, fresh baked bread and pastries. Sooo good!
Insomnia Coffee Co. –In the heart of town, lots of great coffee choices.
Sleepy Monk Coffee Roasters –Yummy coffee, always a line up!
Pelican Brewing Co.Great food & family friendly.
Pig n’ PancakeA classic American Breakfast, the kids LOVE it! Nothing fancy.
Season’s CafeThe best sandwiches!
Pizza a’fetta- The biggest yummiest pizzas.

Grocery Store: Fresh Foods We didn’t eat out for every meal as we cooked lots at home. I loved Fresh Foods as a local grocery store. Lots of healthy options, with a great wine selection too!

Home Decor Store: Sesame & LiliesOh I promise you’ll love it! Endless amounts of home accessories and furniture. Always worth the stop in!

More things to do close by- (Kid Friendly):
Tillamook Creamery – Absolutely incredible. The kids loved it! From educational elements from how to make cheese to milking cows. The restaurant was delicious and the ice-cream was even better. Worth the drive. Note- there are no cows or petting zoos here.
Blue Heron- French Cheese Company. Just up the road from Tillamook Creamery. Defiantly more low key and chill. With a little area to feed the farm animals. The goats and the sheep are hilarious… the kids could have stayed for hours!
