Healthy Skin During a Busy Winter
Do you feel like your life is full packed right now? Revolving around mom life, driving to and from school and all those extra things each day can hold. In a weird way I actually like having my plate full; keeps me going, on track and efficient. With three children and what seems to feel like endless work opportunities (Read: dreams and ideas in the works too!) AND the start of our planning out the building of our new home, makes the days speed by and keep both Troy and I up late at night. (We are night owls when it comes to work, being more productive at night when the kids are in bed, anyone else?) I keep catching myself saying how I wish we had the option to add more hours in the day, it just never feels like enough time to get everything done. I have a feeling most of you can relate to this. Now that our Blake is on more of a consistent routine, I have some time to make sure I am getting back into my daily routines as well. I’m (slowly) back at it with my workouts, taking my handful of vitamins and being conscious with eating healthy lunches and dinners. It feels good, I feel good! Almost five months later, I can finally say that I feel like that newborn fog has finally lifted. Alongside that, I really have to say that I don’t feel like myself when I’m not eating right and getting in those all-important workouts- Even if it’s just 20 minutes. It helps me focus, gives me the little break and starts my day off in the most productive way.
Another part of my daily routine is taking care of my skin. It has always been a priority for me, something my mama instilled in me. Even just a few minutes at night to wash the day off your face feels so good. Kinda like an early morning workout. I’ve included NEOSTRATA into my daily skin care routine for the past month and have been loving it! A couple weeks back I was able to go to the pop-up event in Vancouver and learn even more about the brand – it was so informative and it was amazing to see some of the results clients are getting by using NEOSTRATA products.
I highlighted a few of my favorite products below, along with some tips and tricks for an effortless daily skin care routine. The Vitamin C capsules are giving me life, I think they might be my favourite product from the collection.
Below is what I am currently using. Please note that these may not be the right skin care products for your skin type. You can find which line here is best suited for you and your skin care needs. You can Use this link to shop the line and use code MONIKAXNEO for s special offer!!!!!

I’ve made it a habit to keep my quartz roller in the fridge, to make it extra cold and refreshing. After applying my serum, I roll it in an upward motion on my face. It feels absolutely amazing, even better when it’s cold out of the fridge. I find it also helps with depuffing, when I’m extra tired or haven’t gotten enough sleep. During Winter, I always make sure that I keep my face extra moisturized, it’s no surprise it’s dryer for the upcoming months, I make sure not to skip this step.
I’ve always been an eye cream girl. I’ve been using under eye cream since I can remember, thanks to my mom. I have fallen in love with this eye cream. A little trick that helps you remember to apply: Keep it on your nightstand to remind you to apply before going to bed. It does it’s work while you sleep and helps with waking up fresh with reduced puffiness and dark circles under your eyes.
I know we all know this, but a gentle reminder that great skin starts from the inside out. Make it a habit to drink lots of water, get enough sleep and of course eating healthier options. I’ve been also working with my naturopath to get my body back to its healthy state, we just did a genetic analysis from my DNA – it was incredible to learn how my own body metabolizes food for energy, including which included foods my body is just not into. Pretty cool, I would absolultey recommend it.
If you have time, treat yourself to a facial and try to keep up with your daily skin care routine, that includes washing your face at night. Be mindful that your skin needs time to adjust to new skincare products or healthy changes within your diet. Don’t give up after a week, it’s really about incorporating it into your daily routine. After a month you should see improvements and as time goes on your skin should be glowing and rejuvenated. Do you have any tricks or skincare tips? I would love to hear them, leave me a comment below.
