Hello Eyes

Today I want to chat a little bit about my eyes. Nope, this isn’t a makeup tutorial or a post about beauty products. Instead, I want to share my recent switch to contact lenses that has really helped with my hectic and exhausting lifestyle. And when I say exhausting, I mean it in the way that I know it is just a season in my life, and I know it will change.
Being a momma to a newborn and a toddler, as well as keeping up with my family, home aesthetic and business (and working on my fitness goals!), a day-in-the-life can go by soooo quickly and leave me flat-faced on a pillow. I joke to my husband that laying my head down on my pillow is actually one of my favourite moments of the day.
With that all being said, once I lay my head down, face washed or not, the last thing I want to think about is taking out my contact lenses, cleaning them and placing them into the case. I actually dread the process. Once my eyes are closed, there is no turning back, and I am guilty of leaving them in! So bad. So so so bad.
When I was at IRIS getting my most recent eye exam, I mentioned that it worries me that my eyes might not be in their best health condition simply due to my laziness about taking my contacts out at night. I was then introduced to daily contact lenses by Acuvue. I’ve been wearing contacts for 15 years and never thought of trying them until I was introduced to the lifestyle aspect of these lenses.
The two following points immediately caught my attention:
1. Take your contacts out at bedside- you don’t have to worry about cleaning and storing them! Within a minute you can fall asleep.
2. Even when you purchase a year’s supply you won’t actually use them every single day. Once you have your glasses on in the morning you might just keep them on all day long, not going though as many pairs as you thought you would! So in the long run, it will save you money.
I was convinced to try them out. It was a little bit of an adjustment, but I have to say that I absolutely love them! I’ve been using the 1-Day Acuvue TruEye for over three months now and can’t get enough! They honestly have made life easier and by the end of the day my eyes aren’t sore.
If you’re a mom or live a pretty hectic lifestyle this might be the switch for you too. Walk into any IRIS location and they’ll be happy to let you try them out (complimentary!!) for a week or two. I have a feeling you’ll love them just as much as I do!

I’ve been using daily contacts for ages now, ever since my optometrist told me I was developing an intolerance to monthlies. (I’d wear a monthly pair for about a week before they’d start to cloud over and irritate my eyes.) They’re so much more convenient and I love that I put a fresh, clean pair on every day. The other awesome thing about dailies is that when you travel, you don’t have to bring along a big bottle of contact solution. 🙂
Just started using them this week!! So easy, just remember to recycle all those plastics!
I love Acuvue!
hey gorgeous! Loving this post…I wear disposable contacts as well and it’s the best thing in the world. The worst thing is leaving them in and then having your eyes feel SO tired. especially when life is already busy!! Loving this post and as always, I want your house…it’s gorg! XO
