Our SURPRISE baby gender reveal.
I’ve been toying back and forth if I should post these photos. Why? Well… if you follow me on twitter or instagram you’ll know that these photos might cause a little bit of confusion! Not sure why?? Keep reading…
At 20 weeks pregnant, we hosted a small brunch with our family, to find out the gender of our little bundle of joy! (It was a surprise for Troy and I as well) It was such an surreal moment to find out the gender together as a family! A fun and very joyful morning of food, treats, laughs AND surprises. 2 months later another big surprise- keep reading!

YES!!!! Two months later at our 3D ultrasound appointment, we found out that we’re actually having a BOY!
All in all, we had a blast with our family creating this moment and unexpected new memories! If you have a baby on it’s way this is a great way to find out with your family and friends. I wasn’t sold on the idea at first, but we all had such a blast celebrating together- I recommend it to everyone! Maybe wait till after the 3D ultrasound.
Thank you to my friend Nicole G for convincing me to make this brunch happen & organizing the “pink” balloons.
Could you be any more adorable?? 🙂 Boy or girl, it’s exciting either way. That is going to be one lucky lil’ man!
I love this post! Congratulations!

I’m so glad you posted these Mon! It’s definitely worth sharing. And what a gorgeous family you guys have! LOVE the party decor too!
So fun! Wish I could do it all over again…..all you girls that are prego right now do it with such style! Having a boy first means there is always a big brother for the next ones 🙂

Congratulations on your baby boy! I’m due with a boy in May…but after reading this post I hope HE doesn’t turn into SHE. How far along were you when you were told girl?
Love your blog, btw.
Super cute party! But I have a question: Is the gender reveal party supposed to be a baby shower, or just a party? I have read alot of things online that say guests are not sure what the purpose of these are and find them annoying. Honestly I’m curious what people think about this new type of event.
Hi Rebecca,
We just did a brunch with our close family- Siblings and Parents. It was such a special way to find out all together. Everyone LOVED it.
We didn’t make it into a shower or party with a big invite list. We asked for no gifts, just wanted to share the afternoon with close family.
Hope that helps! 🙂
Hi Monika,
I came across your blog and completely fell in love with this idea!! Your pictures are also so cute and I would love if I could have your blessing to use one of them as a Facebook cover photo for my Maternity Concierge business. Please email me when you have a moment.
Thank you!!
This is such a great idea, especially since I’m not a fan of baby/wedding showers (I hate sounding like I’m asking people for money or gifts). I loved the straws with genders! Haha! And amen to 3D ultrasounds. We got some cool previews in our med school lectures, and I thought they were the bee’s knees.
Hi!! I came across your blog when googling what just happened to my husband and I! We did a 3d ultrasound at 16 weeks and the tech told us it was a boy, two days later our bloodwork revealed it was a girl! So I’m curious how did you find out it was a girl initially? I’m hoping our 20 week anatomy scan reveals the truth!
