Gather At Home ONE YEAR!

Exactly one year ago we were celebrating the release of my book ‘Gather at Home‘. ONE YEAR! I never got around to sharing any of the photos from the book brunch celebration, due to Covid flipping our world upside down. For some reason, I just didn’t feel it was the right time to share all the pretty details amidst the unknowns and chaos we were entering. Now that a full year has gone by, yes- we are still in the middle of a pandemic, but I couldn’t let these special photos not be shared. This was such a monumental and special day and I feel so grateful we were able to host this event and celebrate the book with the ones I love and admire the most, just days before the world was shut down.

This day was not only beautiful, but memorable in so many ways. It was the first time my friends and family got to flip through their own copies, see a table set with DIY’s from the book, and taste some of the recipes too. I really wanted the book to come life. Scrolling through the photos below you’ll notice details right out of the pages of the book. The afternoon was truly perfect. It was the first day it felt like Spring in Vancouver. A Saturday afternoon (one of the last), and a handful of beautiful and talented woman close to my heart got to dress up and enjoy each other’s company. (I can’t wait till we get to do that again!) As we’ve been in lockdown this past year, I am even more thankful for the days we get to gather together. You really cannot replace the joy and comfort of loved ones gathering. One thing I’ve learnt this past year is just how precious that is. From celebrating milestones to welcoming new beginnings, and creating memories that are not forgotten. Thank goodness for technology that has brought us together through these months, but I have to say it’s just not the same. Again, I can hardly wait to host smiling faces. That will never be taken for granted.

The title of my book ‘Gather at Home’, could not have been more in-tune with the days ahead.  Seeing your posts, messages, and photos of you all trying recipes and DIY’s while at home was the greatest gift. Even though we had to cancel the book tour, and many exciting opportunities, seeing the book come to life in your homes made me smile… daily! Thank you for making this book a National Best Seller and #1 on so many lists and platforms!

There was so much love poured into this book… years of preparation, and it has gone by with a blink of an eye. This last year especially. I am forever thankful for the opportunity. I hope you enjoy the photos below. Here’s to celebrating all together again one day! If you haven’t gotten your copy, you’ll be able to find it at most major book stores and online!
