Gift Guide for What to Give The Holiday Hostess
I love hostessing. There’s nothing better than having your favorite people around for a special celebration or holiday! It’s always worth the extra effort to pull together a special gathering, and I’m always touched when guests show up with a little something to express their gratitude.
Most of the time, it tends to be a bottle of wine – which is lovely! But, without a doubt, we always end up opening and enjoying it before the evening is over. If you’re interested in something that’ll last a little longer, I’ve curated a collection of hostess gift ideas for this holiday season.
Now, you definitely don’t have to splurge. You can use the $30-$40 you’d usually spend on wine to pick up a festive candle or a pretty set of serving utensils. And if you have your eye on something that’s a little out of your budget, consider contacting a couple other guests to go in on a gift together.
I encourage you to consider picking up a hostess gift for your holiday parties and dinners this season. Take time to think about where you’re going and what you can do to express your gratitude – even if it’s something small to thank your mom for pulling together the family dinner. A little extra generosity and thoughtfulness always go a long way and mean so much to the recipient.

The hardest part of picking up a hostess gift is usually finding the time to actually buy one. I recommend picking up a few extra things to have on hand in case you receive a last-minute invite or you want to be prepared in advance. If you’re strapped for ideas, consider messaging CF SHOP! Text, a digital concierge service, to ask for recommendations. They’ll answer any other shopping-related questions you have, too. Even if you end up with a couple of pretty Christmas ornaments to adorn a bottle of wine – your hostess will think of you when she pulls out the ornament every year!
I’m planning on perusing CF Pacific Centre in Vancouver for a handful of hostess gifts this season. And I’m going to make it even easier on myself by dropping them off at the CF Gift Wrap Valet so they’re beautifully wrapped and ready to go. I won’t have to think twice about getting a gift prepped for a party while I’m rushing out the door.
