Surprise 60th Birthday Party

Earlier this month we celebrated (Surprised!!!) my mom with an unforgettable night with her turning 60! This event might just be my favourite one to date. My sister and I knew we wanted to plan her something extra special with all her closest family and friends, really make it a night to remember. But oh my goodness, is it every hard to keep a secret from our mom! She had no idea, and her reaction pulling up was absolutely priceless. She thought she was showing my mother-in-law and a friend her new house, (which is attached to our new home build)…. on the way to a “small” birthday dinner.

Every detail was perfect, better then we could have imagined. A dance floor under a twinkling willow tree, a champagne truck…(yes you heard right!!!), a delicious dinner, endless laughter from the ones who love her the most. There is something about a long table dinner under the stars that is just magical. We wanted a relaxed yet elevated look with lots of flowers, candles with a feminine place setting. The menu cards were fun to make, secured with a metal grommet and finished with a velvet or silk ribbon; acting like a name card too.

We prayed so hard that it wouldn’t rain that night. The weather was warm for a late Fall day, and would you believe if I told you that it started to POUR the second we packed up last item! Our hearts could not be more full. We were so thrilled to surprise our mama with such an unforgettable night! Thank you to everyone who was involved! We love you Mama! I can hardly wait to spend endless years celebrating each occasion where we soon will call home!
